The Difference Between Opel M10 or M14 Shock Absorber on the Rear Axle

If you have an Opel Corsa C or Opel Tigra Twin Top which is based on the same platform – and want to replace the shock absorber or in this case to a coilover suspension – there are 2 types of shock absorbers on the rear axle.

Therefore, it is important to check which shock absorber you have so that the new suspension fits.

In the image below, you can see the difference between the 2 different shock absorbers, it is about whether the eye is ø10mm or ø14mm

Since it can be difficult to measure the diameter when the shock absorber is mounted on the car, you can see an illustration next to it showing how the damper looks from the front – as well as measurements of the width.

As a rule of thumb, our experience is that the following models use the following sizes:
Opel Corsa C 1.0i 12v / 1.2i 16v / 1.7Di – M10
Opel Corsa C 1.4i 16v / 1.8i 16v / 1.3 CDTi / 1.7 DTi / 1.7 CDTi – M14
