The Story of Astina.dk
2024 - After replacing all the underlying IT systems last year, we launched our 5th generation website in the spring of 2024. Finally, we have a new scalable platform that we can build on. This is also the year when our new "delivery time robot" should finally be able to provide better and clearer delivery information on the website.
2023 - After replacing our ERP system, a complete reorganization and expansion of our warehouse facilities was initiated. This will almost double our warehouse capacity, which is now 1500 sqm, and a new Warehouse Management System will be implemented.
2022 - This year we developed our first "beta" of our complicated warehouse robot, which can show more precise delivery times on the website. This is a stepping stone to our next step on the journey, which involves a complete overhaul of our IT infrastructure to provide optimized work processes - ideally giving customers a better shopping experience and easing workflows for employees. Replacing our ERP system was the top priority to be ready for the next steps in 2023.
2021 - New office facilities completed and put into use, expansion of our warehouse with an additional 500 sqm - many new brands and agencies added - new features added to our website, including our new car selector, which makes it much faster to find parts suitable for your car.
2020 - The renovation of our new headquarters officially started, projects include a completely new installation workshop and new offices - the staff now counts 11 people.
2019 - Moving to new premises on Thorsvej in Grindsted - our new headquarters of 2000 sqm was inaugurated, new warehouse facilities, new showroom, new offices and meeting rooms - and plenty of room for expansion.
2018 - Launch of our new wheel shop http://hjul.astina.dk/ - the year when new goals, dreams, and visions for Astina.dk were set - so stay tuned.
2017 - Last year we began replacing our entire IT infrastructure, and in 2017 it was finally realized with our new back-end system, which was connected live to our webshop, giving us many development opportunities.
2016 - Launch of our new website (Version 4), finally mobile-friendly, and also the foundation for continued development and focus on future IT infrastructure, which will be continuously added.
2015 - Acquisition/merger of Scandinavian Car Styling became a reality, after many years of cooperation where Scandinavian Car Styling was a supplier and Danish importer of many major well-known brands such as KW Suspensions, Rieger Tuning, Barracuda Wheels, and many others. This was part of our expansion of our B2B business.
2013 - Moving into our current premises on Vestergade 126, complete renovation of the building, with a completely new store facade, new showroom with new inventory, new large office landscape, and a huge expansion of warehouse and shipping facilities.
2012 - After many years of space problems, we finally found a suitable building, only 3 house numbers away we found our new premises with more than twice the space, although the premises were not suitable for retail, so it required a major renovation.
2011 - Constant growth and a great effort to increase our turnover have now increased the staff to 4 full-time employees and an after-school employee. 2011 was the year when a goal was set to double turnover over the next 5 years.
2010 - Ever since our opening, we have struggled with space problems in our premises, this year we expanded our lease with the rest of the property we rented, as the used car dealer behind us moved out, much-needed space, and a huge expansion of our warehouse and logistics.
2009 - Navision accounting system was purchased and put into operation, mainly to combine our physical store with inventory management and at the same time add inventory management on the website, so we could show correct stock status on the items.
2008 - Version 2 of our website was launched, the first real professional website with many new features.
2007 - This was the year when the staffexpanded from one to three, giving more time to each customer. The growing range also led to more agencies and better cooperation with suppliers. Furthermore, it was the year when the first Astina.dk event was held with great success.
2006 - René made the big decision of his life when he quit his job and bought the shop in Grindsted. The range was constantly growing. This was also the year when Astina.dk participated in its first trade fair.
2005 - This was the year when Astina.dk expanded the range with many new product areas. Furthermore, the interest in Astina.dk had become so great that René considered turning it from a hobby business into a full-time job.
2004 - Customer interest grew larger and larger, they demanded more products and brands. This led to the creation of a website where customers could see the range and order online.
2003 - This was the year when René needed styling for his own car. It was not possible to find unique products from Danish dealers, so René chose to buy abroad. Here, René got the idea to sell unique styling to others who had the same interest via car clubs and forums.
