Many people are unsure about the difference between a Polo 6R and Polo 6C – here you can read about the difference and how to easily distinguish a 6R from a 6C.
The car is the 5th generation Polo model and was released in 2009.
In 2014, the facelifted Polo 6R model was released and the designation was changed to 6C – the reason for using a different “model code” is to easily distinguish the spare parts internally, and it is not really meant as a “customer-friendly” number.
In the picture below, you can see the front of the car – where both models are shown, the lower one is 6R and the upper one is 6C – the easiest way to see the difference is the chrome line that follows the fog lights across the front – and the new headlights have a different design with the reflectors.
The structure of the front is the same, so headlights and grille fit over – but the bumper itself is different, so splitters, spoilers, etc. mounted on the bumper do not match on the two models.
The rear is a similar story, the taillights are changed and have a slightly more “sharp / angular” design expression, likewise, the connector for the taillights has been changed. The easiest way to see the difference is that the reflectors are now located in the rear bumper on the facelifted 6C model.
