Mercedes Grills – GTR AMG and Panamericana

Mercedes GTR Panamericana Grill

In 2018, Mercedes-Benz introduced the AMG GT with a new front grille featuring vertical slats. This was quickly followed by several models in the AMG class, including the GLC, S63, and S65, and not least the addition of the C63 AMG.

We would almost go so far as to say that the Panamericana grille is perhaps one of the most beautiful grille upgrades Mercedes has made.

If you compare the 2017 GT model with a 2018 model, you can clearly see the significant difference the grille lines make to the car.

The History of the Panamericana Grille

In fact, we have to go back to 1952 with the Mercedes 300 SL, which after the war was one of the things that laid the foundation for Mercedes as it is today, at least in terms of their success in motorsport. If you want to read more about the classic Mercedes-Benz 300SL W194, Motortrend.com has written a really good in-depth article (in English) with some fantastic pictures of the legendary car.

If you are also a fan of the beautiful GTR Panamericana grille, we have a huge selection of these grilles for most Mercedes models today. The variant is available in glossy black, as first introduced on the GTR model, and also in a version with chrome slats that give the grille a fantastic depth.
