BBS Wheel Series – What is the difference?

BBS started out producing wheels exclusively for motorsport, but has chosen to expand their range so that it is now possible for everyone to get their hands on a set of BBS wheels.

There can be a big difference in BBS wheels and how they are produced. Here, BBS has chosen to divide their wheels into 3 different series – Design Line, Performance Line, Forged Line.

No matter which series you choose, you are still guaranteed a set of quality wheels. All BBS wheels are produced in high-quality aluminum, which is cast under low pressure to ensure the least possible impurities in the aluminum. All BBS wheels are tested to meet European ECE standards and are tested under extreme conditions in terms of temperatures and durability. In addition, each wheel is finally scanned for a final quality check.

Design Line:

BBS Wheel Series 1

BBS's "budget" series is called Design Line and is a cast and heat-treated wheel. All Design Line wheels are produced in a high-quality mold using a special low-pressure technology that reduces impurities that can weaken the wheel's durability.
After the wheel has cooled down to 205 Celsius, the mold is opened and the wheel is transported to testing.

Performance Line:

BBS Wheel Series 2

BBS's Performance Line series is produced based on the same concept as Design Line, but in addition, a special flow forming/rolling technique is used where the wheel is first cast and then rolled (flow formed), which is known from motorsport to reduce the wheel's weight while maintaining strength and quality.

Forge Line:

BBS Wheel Series 3

Forge Line is BBS's top-class/lightweight wheels that are produced in Japan and Germany. Forge Line wheels are forged from the best raw materials, which gives an extremely low weight but still remains extremely resistant. The technique was originally used for professional motorsport and has been further developed here for street use. Forge Line is for the car enthusiast where only the best is good enough.
