Do you remember when tapes had to be turned and rewound? You had to sit and transfer music from tape to tape in real time, everything has an end, and these things are almost ancient history. The problem is that in the “older” classic cars, it is blasphemy to change the radio, and until now there have only been “bad” attempts to make so-called retro radios for older classic cars.
Blaupunkt reintroduces the legendary and probably most famous classic 1 DIN radio with tape – Bremen SQR 46 – 100% true to its original predecessor, and packed with all the modern tech you could wish for, including USB, DAB, Bluetooth (hands-free and streaming (A2DP) – every detail has been thought of, right down to individual color adjustment so it matches your car’s original lighting perfectly.

USB (Front and rear) – we recommend extending the rear-facing USB port into the glove compartment for 100% discreet and hidden installation if you want to use USB, but regardless, all options are here
FM with RDS tuner, the radio also has a built-in DAB+ tuner
Bluetooth functionality with twin-connect, allows 2 devices to be connected simultaneously, phone book access and supports audio mix from Navigation via mobile phone. Additionally, the unit has a built-in microphone, so you don’t have to place an “ugly” microphone in the “completely” original classic, but there is still the option to connect an external microphone if desired.
Steering wheel control is also supported, so if the car has original steering wheel control, this can be retained
Permanent memory built-in – the radio remembers your settings even if it loses its constant 12v connection. This is made so that when you disconnect the battery for example for winter storage – the settings on the unit are retained.
Vario Color – full color palette and almost infinite color combinations available, applies to both the display and the buttons – so it can match the car’s original lighting 100%.
Low installation depth – no CD drive, so it takes up almost no space, so there will never be a problem with installation depth, and the possibility is there to hide e.g. digital amplifiers and other things behind it very easily!
